Description

18 Years at the Interface of Physics and Chemistry

The International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) at the Fritz Haber Institute started operation in 2002, initiated by H.-J. Freund under the name "Complex Surfaces in Materials Science". In 2014, Martin Wolf took over as speaker of the IMPRS under the new name "Functional Interfaces in Physics and Chemistry". After a total of three successful 6-year funding periods, the school now runs out in September 2020.

This symposium brings together the current Ph.D. students at the FHI and the participating university groups with many people involved in the IMPRS over the years. The program highlights of the current research within the school as well as its scientific evolution, and various academic and non-academic career paths of IMPRS alumni. Additionally, various aspects of scientific data handling, technical and ethical, are being discussed.

We invite all Ph.D. students at the FHI and from the university PI groups, as well as all involved PIs and all IMPRS alumni to participate.

PLEASE NOTE:

Due to the recent developments with Covid 19, the symposium has been postponed to Aug 27/28 2020. We will reopen registration in due time before this new date, and will notify everyone accordingly.
