Thanks for the great presentation!. Does CS-Studio/Phoebus have plans on supporting image compression, such as ImageJ? Thanks! 4 upvotes | 1 answer | 0 reply Kunal Shroff answered - Yes, there are plans for this. We have two beamlines using this feature and would like to include this in cs-studio soon. [04:44 PM] Pedro Gigoux asked : Could you comment on your experience of using Bluesky/Ophyd with continuous integration tools? 3 upvotes | 2 answers | 0 reply Heinz Junkes answered - live answered Roland Mueller answered - live answered [07:55 PM] Rod Nussbaumer asked : How is the list of PVs for the tree/search tool populated? 2 upvotes | 2 answers | 1 reply Davy Dequidt answered - We have two way, one is a configuration files in folder (xml) which is load in memory. We are moving to a database list to handle the amount of PV. Rod Nussbaumer replied - So PV list is not automatically harvested from EPICS DBs or other source? Davy Dequidt answered - Yes the file is generated during packaging based on a DB. [04:12 PM] Prajjwal asked : is bluesky_snapshot also open sourced? 1 upvote | 1 answer | 1 reply Heinz Junkes answered - Pete Jemian: bluesky_snapshot is open source, see https://apstools.readthedocs.io/en/latest/applications/snapshot.html?highlight=bluesky_snapshot Prajjwal replied - I think I couldn't see a shell script to build it via conda. I can take another look. Thanks [05:43 PM] William Lavender asked : Does BS Studio create files that are the same format as Qt designer? 1 upvote | 2 answers | 0 reply Daniel Allan answered - Also relevant (as I should have mentioned in my talk) is Typhos from SLAC, which takes in an ophyd object and auto-generates a GUI, which can be manually tweaked if desired. That Qt Designer and thus generates compatible files by definition. I am interested in working with Alex to evaluate refactoring BS Studio to use it. https://pcdshub.github.io/typhos/v1.1.1/index.html Also of interest is https://github.com/slaclab/pydm/ which is a closer analogue to "OPI screens in Python Qt". Alex Sobhani answered - Hi William. Yes, the screens are saved as .ui files. [04:15 PM] Prajjwal asked : this might be a stupid question, how many PVs have been included by default in bluesky? 0 upvote | 2 answers | 1 reply Heinz Junkes answered - from Pierre: The number of active PV's depeends on ypur detectors / ophyd devices that your are using. Prajjwal replied - Thanks Heinz, Pierre, Pete, and Daniel Daniel Allan answered - Another question you could ask is, which IOCs does ophyd support by default? (I could think of IOCs as a group of related PVs, from a client perspective.) We support common ones like Area Detector, EPICS Motor, EPICS Scaler, and a couple others in core ophyd. Other facility-specific libraries build on ophyd to support more. [04:20 PM] Pete Jemian asked : bluesky_snapshot is open source, see https://apstools.readthedocs.io/en/latest/applications/snapshot.html?highlight=bluesky_snapshot 0 upvote | 1 answer | 2 replies Roland Mueller answered - Thanks Pete. There is an answer box next to every question. That clarifies the thread later on. Pete Jemian replied - Roland: Thanks for the tip. Looked for the box on the original question. It's still not there for me. Pete Jemian replied - conda install apstools -c aps-anl-tag [04:40 PM] Tom Cobb (DLS) asked : Will bluesky_widgets also be used in your web-based UIs? 0 upvote | 1 answer | 1 reply Heinz Junkes answered - live answered Tom Cobb (DLS) replied - thanks [05:43 PM] Joseph Sullivan asked : How many widgets are available? 0 upvote | 1 answer | 0 reply Alex Sobhani answered - There are 14 BS Studio widgets plus it can use the Qt designer widgets. Here is a picture of the BS Studio widgets: https://bsobhani.github.io/bsstudio/html/_images/widgets_box.PNG [05:54 PM] Markus Kristensson asked : Could the boolean button in Phoebus be updated to allow choosing different PV:s for the led indicator and for the action of the button? 0 upvote | 0 answer | 0 reply [06:02 PM] Markus Kristensson asked : Is Python3 to be included as a scripting language? 0 upvote | 1 answer | 1 reply Kunal Shroff answered - Unfortunately no support for pure python, there is jython support Markus Kristensson replied - Okay! Thanks for your talks, unfortunately I couldn't follow entirely because of my bad connection on a train. Will relisten! I have changed it. My mistake and I did not see it as owner ;-) William Lavender replied - Yes, it works now. [06:11 PM] Henrik Carling asked : Hi Kunal, Great talks - thank you.
