Can you elaborate on issues? Just a matter of time, or resources, or ..? Alternatives? 2 upvotes | 1 answer | 0 reply Henrik Carling answered - The work in the EPICS council on the roadmap has been slow for various reasons. I would say that the probably most important contributing factor is that the composition of the EPICS council represents many facilities with a wide variety of current configuration and future needs. So just getting the baselines down on paper to then proceed to develop a coherent picture of needs and opportunities is hard and takes a long time. Time is also a factor, all EPICS council members work with EPICS council tasks on their "spare time" on top of their normal jobs. Of course, the pandemic situation has contributed to de-focus the planned activities this year in particular. I hope this answers your question. [06:25 PM] Rod Nussbaumer asked : Any plans to add checksum support as a 'plugin' that doesn't require modifying streamdevice sources to support new/odd devices? 2 upvotes | 2 answers | 0 reply Sven Pokrzykowski answered - answered by dirk :-) Dirk Zimoch answered - Yes. ..... [06:21 PM] Joao Paulo Martins asked : Hello Dirk Is it possible to send a constant value to a record that was passed as argument, in case of "mismatch" or "reply timeout" (without using exec dbpf) ? e.g. @replytimeout { exec dbpf \$1 0xAA } 0 upvote | 3 answers | 1 reply Sven Pokrzykowski answered - answered by dirk :-) Dirk Zimoch answered - with quotes: @replytimeout { exec "dbpf \$1 0xAA" } Dirk Zimoch answered - I misunderstood. You wanted *without* dbpf. That is only possible for the value 0 with %?... in case of a mismatch, There is no "return value" to send independend of input. Maybe something to think about. Joao Paulo Martins replied - Thanks Dirk, you got it, I wanted *without* dbpf. Anyway, I will try this in the "replytimeout" section, which is already fine for my use case. =) [06:22 PM] Dirk Naparty asked : There is a great documentation for StreamDevice (https://paulscherrerinstitute.github.io/StreamDevice/protocol.html).
